		From Washington The U.S. Preventative Services Task Force is recommending that doctors screen all adult patients under 65 for anxiety, guidance that highlights the extraordinary stress levels that have plagued the United States since the start of the pandemic. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), is awarding more than $1.6 billion in investments for communities throughout the country addressing the addiction and overdose crises, as a part of President Biden’s comprehensive effort to prevent overdoses and save lives.
		From Columbus Out-of-state doctors can now be more easily licensed in Ohio. The AMCNO was part of a coalition which worked to pass legislation joining Ohio as the 35th state into the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact. Governor Mike DeWine announced he is enhancing his Bold Beginning Initiativeto remove barriers to health care for mothers and children, ease financial burdens, and support parents. Ohio reports first potential monkeypox death. Governor Mike DeWine and former Mayor Nan Whaley both attended the Vote for Ohio Kids Forum in Columbus, discussing their plans for Ohio's youngest residents. AMCNO sponsored the event.
