  Important Updates
  • Last Week was Telehealth Awareness Week. Over the past year, the AMCNO collaborated with the Physicians Foundation and the American Medical Association (AMA), to support Ohio physicians interested in establishing or sustaining telehealth services and measuring the impact in their practices. We worked with seven practice sites to develop case studies to share best practices.
  • Debates for Ohio Governor and Senate Candidates Cancelled after refusal to participate from Governor Mike DeWine (R) and J.D. Vance (R): Democratic candidates Mayor Nan Whaley and Congressman Tim Ryan had agreed to participate.

  • New COVID Booster Proving More Effective than Previous Shots. The study from the New England Journal of Medicine proves new vaccines will better fight COVID variants.
  • Judge Blocks Enforcement of Six-Week Abortion Ban. The restraining order, which has already been extended once, makes abortion legal again up to 22 weeks gestation.

From Washington

  • Physicians Foundation Releases 2022 Survey of America’s Physicians. The survey uncovered that there has not been any change in physician burnout in the past year, and it remains significantly higher (62%) than pre-pandemic times (40% in 2018),” said Gary Price, M.D., president of The Physicians Foundation. “Physician burnout has not gone unnoticed by our profession or by society, and yet there is still stigma surrounding mental health care, underlying system barriers and a lack of solutions in action to address them.”

From Columbus
